JAMES MEESE
James Alfred Meese nasce in Ohio l'8 ottobre 1917. Frequenta il college per due anni. Nel 1940 risiede nella circoscrizione di Totowa a Passaic, New Jersey.
Lavora già come illustrator aquando viene richiamato alle armi a Newark, New Jersey il 21 aprile 1942.
Dal 1951 in poi dipinge copertine di paperbacks per Avon, Cardinal Editions, Crest, Dell, Gold Medal, MacFadden, Perma Books, Pocket Books, Popular Library e Signet Books. Realizza pure copertine e illustrazioni per varie riviste quali Bluebook e Real. Di solito Meese dipinge a olio su Masonite. I suoi lavori si distinguono per la bellezza delle donne che raffigura.
Ha soltanto 53 anni quando scompare il 1°luglio 1971.
James Alfred Meese was born October 8, 1917 in Ohio. He attended college for two years. By 1940 he was residing in Totowa Borough, Passaic, New Jersey. He was already working as a commercial artist when he was drafted in Newark, New Jersey on April 21 1942.
Starting in 1951, he painted paperback covers for Avon, Cardinal Editions, Crest, Dell, Gold Medal, MacFadden, Perma Books, Pocket Books, and Signet Books. He also did covers and illustrations for various magazines, including Bluebook and Real. Meese usually did his paintings in oils on Masonite. His artwork usually featured shapely women.
He was only 53 when he passed away on July 1, 1971.
