TOM BARON
Thomas Louis Baron nasce a Los Angeles, in California, il 3 maggio 1914 da Thomas D. Baron e Caroline Gruber. Il 3 luglio 1936 sposa Barbara Elizabeth Dougherty.
Esordisce nell'animazione con la Jam Handy Organization a Detroit intorno al 1938. Passa poi allo studio Fleischer, dove si dedica a Popeye. Dopo un breve period presso lo studio Schlesinger/Warner Bros., viene
richiamato alle armi. Congedato nel 1946, per due anni scrive e disegna storie a fumetti con animali buffi per i Sangor Studios, pubblicate sugli albi delle editrici Better, ACG e Rural Home. Realizza anche alcune storie romantiche per Lev Gleason nel 1951-53.
Dal 1948 riprende a lavorare nell'animazione con Tempe Toons, poi con Larry Harmon, Ed Graham, Cambria, Fine Arts Films, Air Programs, Bakshi, Hanna-Barbera, Filmation Associates e infine per Dimenmark International.
Ritiratosi nel 1984, Baron scompare il 13 novembre 1985 a Los Angeles.
Thomas Louis Baron was born May 3, 1914 in Los Angeles, California, to Thomas D. Baron and Caroline Gruber. He married Barbara Elizabeth Dougherty on July 3, 1936.
Baron made his debut in animation with the Jam Handy Organization in Detroit around 1938. He then moved to the Fleischer studio, where he was a Popeye animator. After a brief stint at Schlesinger/Warner Bros., he was drafted and spent two years in the Army. He came back to civilian life in 1946, starting a two-year stint with Sangor Studios, writing and drawing funny animal comics published by Better, ACG, and Rural Home. Apparently, he also drew a few romance stories for Lev Gleason.
He went back to animation in 1948, working Tempe Toons, then with Larry Harmon, Ed Graham, Cambria, Fine Arts Films, Air Programs, Bakshi, Hanna-Barbera, Filmation Associates, and Dimenmark International.
Having retired in 1984, Baron passed away November 13, 1985 in Los Angeles.
